As the year winds down, and leaves rustle in chilly winds… we start to look forward to our biggest show of the year. The annual Tucson Gem and Mineral show.. a cornucopia of all things gemological and mineral is by far my favorite show. Tens of thousands of buyers and dealers descend upon an otherwise sleepy sprawling town in the desert to soak up some sun and trade baubles (and sometimes full dinosaur skeletons). There are dozens and dozens of shows through out the city, each with their own focus and ambiance. From parking lots to convention centers and massive tents, the city is a buzz with rock hounds, miners, designers, jewelers, and collectors.
