This is a phenomenal pearl, all natural color grown in the fresh water of a Chinese pearl farm. This particular feather pearl is 1.25" long and .5" wide. The pearl is set in a solid 14K yellow gold bail that can accommodate a chain/cord up to 4mm. (chain not included, but if you would like me to order you one, please email me at the time of purchase). This is a fantastic example of a very large feather pearl and it plays well with other charms and pendants!

In fact, this is most likely a natural pearl, but because it is found inside a pearl farm, it will never be certified as such. Feather pearls have been found in fresh water mollusks long before pearl cultivation began. They are born of the hinge of the animal, and sometimes there is a perfectly matching indentation in that part of the shell where the pearl was fully formed.
